7D’s Malta experience    September 13th – September 20th

Close your eyes and imagine a place with glorious sunshine, crystal clear waters and beautiful landscape. You will find all this and much more on the tiny Mediterranean island of Malta.
Class 7D chose this place as the destination of their English project week and experienced the rich history of over 7000 years, explored medieval cities, took a ferry to Gozo, did lots of cultural studies and at the same time improved their language skills.
The traditions of Malta are a reflection of various cultures that have come into contact with the Maltese islands through the centuries and the Malta Experience audio visual show gave us a good overview.
Staying with a host family was an excellent way of integrating into the local culture which worked very well for most of our students.
Our language school was in Sliema and the IELS course concentrated on functional input and on developing fluency and communication skills.
Our group soon grew fond of our dedicated Maltese activity leader Carlston, who took us to marvellous beaches and organised day trips and fun activities.
Unfortunately all good things had to come to an end, we said SAHHA! and an Austrian Airlines plane took us back on Sunday night. We all agreed that school trips make a pleasant change to classroom-based activities.
